Hallelujah!! Praise Abba Father that the scripture is absolutely clear as to who the enemy is: “This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.” (Eph 6:12). According to this scripture they are not human agencies, although they do influence humans (through the mind). Our enemies are clearly revealed as powerful spirit beings (princes – fallen angels) who are structured by rank – Satan of course is their king. As with dictatorial powers (dictatorships) the structure of control is authoritarian – top down! With this type of government there is very little place for line (management) function. An old adage is highly descriptive of his administration “Power corrupts, and total power corrupts totally.” Satan’s governmental (command) structure is revealed within Ephesians 6:12 – rulers and authorities (evil spiritual forces) in the heavenly realm:

Satan
(Beelzebub = Dung god; Abaddon/Apollyon = Destroyer)

Princes – Fallen Angels
(Rulers over nations & magisterial/municipal districts)

Demons
(Fiery darts: Fruit of the flesh)

According to Jesus, Satan’s character profile is a s follows: “You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and has never stood by the truth, since there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie he speaks in character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (Jn 8:44) Never loose sight of this fact: the demonic world is governed by Satan and his Princes – they are all fallen angels and have at their disposal millions upon millions of demons (fiery darts). In our ‘full armour’ position – we need never be afraid of them!!!!

LOCALITY
Their power base is the second heaven and it is from this vantage point that they influence events upon the earth – the first heaven.

The three heavens : first heaven is earth - abode of humans, second heaven is atmosphere - seat of Satan's government and abode of powers and principalities, third heaven is outer space - God's heavenly throne and government and abode of Jesus Christ.
